Your inventory belongs to you. This page explains what Sortbot stores, how AI features process it, and how you can control access.

What we store

Sortbot stores your inventory records: names, descriptions, tags, photos, voice recordings you save, transcripts, image details, item labels, and the locations or containers you assign. We also store your saved Ask Sortbot conversation and context so it can continue across visits.

You can start with an account ID and no email. If you add an email, we store it and its verification status for sign-in and account recovery. We store session records, hashed access tokens, plan information, and usage counts to provide access and enforce allowances.

How we use it

We process this information to save and organize your inventory, search it, answer your questions, connect devices and agents, send requested sign-in or verification emails, and protect the service from abuse. Requests may produce hosting logs and error diagnostics. Rate limiting uses a hash of the request IP address.

AI and service providers

AI features send the relevant content to OpenRouter and the model provider handling the request. This can include photos for recognition, audio for transcription, inventory text and search queries for semantic search, or conversation history and retrieved records for Ask Sortbot. Those providers process requests under their own terms and privacy policies; avoid submitting content you do not want processed by an AI service.

Sortbot uses Vercel for hosting and file storage, Turso for its hosted database, and Resend for account emails. These providers process the information needed to deliver those services. Provider processing and storage may take place outside your country.

Cookies and account access

A session cookie keeps your browser connected to your account for up to 180 days. Clearing it or signing out can remove access to an unverified Guest account. Verify your email if you want to sign in again later.

Phone pairing links, sign-in links, and API keys grant account access. Share them only with devices and agents you trust. An agent connected with your API key can read and change your inventory through the available API and MCP tools. You can revoke or replace the key in Settings. Any external agent you connect has its own data practices.

Your controls and data retention

You can edit and delete inventory records in the app and export your inventory through the API. Saved records and chat context are retained to provide your account across visits; signing out does not delete them. Deleting a record removes it from your inventory, but copies in file storage, provider systems, or backups may remain until separately removed or expired.

For account deletion or a request to access, correct, or remove personal information that you cannot manage yourself, contact the maintainer using the contact route below. We may need to verify that you control the account. Privacy rights and the ability to contact a privacy regulator depend on where you live.

Questions and updates

Sortbot is maintained by Oguz Bilgic. For privacy questions and data requests, use the contact information linked from the maintainer’s public GitHub profile. Do not post private inventory, access keys, or sign-in links publicly.

We will update the date above when this notice changes. See also our Terms and agent guide.
